Running email support in Plain will help your team:

  • Stay in one tool: No toggling between your inbox and support platform.

  • Give structured support: Emails become threads with statuses, owners, and SLA tracking.

  • Build a professional setup: Use your own domain and a clean support address.

What You’ll Need

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Your Plain inbound email address
This will look like yourteam@inbound.postmark.app – Plain provides this during setup.

  • Admin access to your DNS settings
You’ll need this to verify your domain and route incoming email.

  • Admin access to your email provider
For example, if you're using Google Workspace, you’ll need access to the Admin console.

Once set up, emails sent to your support address won't show up in your old inbox. They'll appear in Plain instead. If you need emails to show up in both Plain and another inbox. get in touch at help@plain.com.

What makes a good support email address?

Your email address must use your company domain. Plain doesn’t support public email providers like @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, or @icloud.com.

We recommend keeping it simple and professional:

✅ Good options:

  • support@yourcompany.com

  • help@yourcompany.com

  • hello@yourcompany.com

  • contact@yourcompany.com

⚠️ Use caution with personal addresses. sonia@yourcompany.com or peter@yourcompany.com can work, but don’t scale as well or communicate team-based support.
